Hello,

I was at the doctor's office today, and reading  in a pest issue  of 'Time', about how the reccession is affecting different  people. There was also a chart, of Neilsen Ratings, showing  the different things that we buy more of now, and less of now.

Unsurprisingly, flour, sugar, ect..the sales of  things to cook at home, have all gone way, way up. As have canned goods, meat, ect-groceries too make meals, and people are now buying these things and hoarding them, so they don't have to go to the grocery  store as often, and can save on gas.

This cracked me up-birth control items, like condems, have incrased in sales...lol. Guess it is still a form of entertainment, but people are more mindful, of unexpected results !!

Also increased in sales have been board games, netflix movies, and other forms of family entertainment.

A woman wrote to me the other day, talking about her grandchildren. She did have alot of ways she is saving money, while taking care of hr grandchildren, Making cool-aid, letting them run through the sprinkler, ect.... there was something in the love for these kids that burned through my internet connection. If nothing else, this reccession is forcing our kids to us their imagination, and is forcing us to use ours, in showing them how it USED too be, and probably, how it was sappossed to be. I enjoy all my mail, but that one letter will always be special to me, as it brought back memories of my own 4 being small, and a yearning, of watching them.

And the things that have become slower sellers apparently are: fast food items. Movie theater tickets.Cameras-they questioned if maybe people were having less good times they want to photograph-which made me smile. (Being a mom of 4 there is never a 'not-good-time too photograph!! LOL) Air fresheners. (??) and Bottled water, too name just a few.

One man was quoted as saying that we're all beeing forced to get basics-which is true.

Another man sappossidily RIPPED UP HIS DRIVEWAY, TOO PLANT A GARDEN!! I dare say hubby would accuse me of pushing that abit far, though I do have a garden, that is failing  miseribly in all this rain.

I guess we are all doing what we have too do too survive.  Hopefully we all come out on the other side of this, wiser, and stronger, with ideas, recipes, ect...to tell the grandchildren about, as were passed down to us, from the Great Depression.

We do anything craft-wise-

I have spent and LOST so much money with these online scams, it's crazy.

 I live in maine, so I do all kinds of -beach-sand-saweed-shell crafts, I also do alot of stuffed animal things-that I have ben doing, By-Hand, and LONG BEFOREE BUILD A BEAR! :) and the straw hats with the spanish moss and flowers--all of this is ook anyway, so can be ordred in specific color scemes. We made some beautilful scrapbook type picture frames-also could and should be personalized/ We made scrapbook-'Places to go, People too meet, and things to do before you kick the can' , Thos we actually made as givts, and now I don't even have one.

Kitchen Window Books-I think thos were actually copy-writed and sold, but I don't own one, and I make up my own questions that I think peoplee would really like to know about their family members,,,

And I would like all of this, and more, for the mere price of....close to free???  lol

Truthfully, I have tried this, in fact ebay screwed me over, for 300. that I still owe them. I bought te rights to a drop-ship store and thought I would just movee evrything over from there to ebay...so That wasn't stuff we made

I too am trying the aidpage thing-I can tell you, you don't get rich on here!!!You do meet a WONDERFUL bunch of people on here though, and if you can get yourself in the google add words, I think THAT"S where the money is. I'm just not able to figure that whole think out--so if you figure out an easy way, or ANY way,,,remember me-okay? LOL. I will eventually take the time to get into that, bot so far, I haven't.

  Well, I guess I'll be the first to add a way we are saving money.  ~I have started pre-mixing pancake mix, and putting it in a covered juice pitcher. In the morning, all anyone has too do is mix it around, and pour it into a pan that's been sprayed with non-stick 'butter'. They all have time too make themselves a nice warm, filling, home-made breakfast. And it's made at THEIR CONVIENCE-when THEY are ready to eat, then rush off. The only mess is the cooking utensils, and plate-ect. No more breakfast at the fast food places,,,,,  d

HelloAll-I want to apologize for not signing on for afew days-and the people I owe massages too, and others that have caught my eye-I promise I will work on that, as well as doing somethings too my pages, between now and bedtime tonight.

In the last fewdays, I have been tired and moody-feeling really worn out-for no apparent reason. Maybe because it's been cold and rainy. There are other reasons for my mood, but you'll have too follow my pages, and see where I add little notes here and there, for a more throrough explanation.  :0)

I WILL SAY- I went to the doctors, and I weigh more than I EVER HAVE IN MY LIFE. I was actually shocked! I knew I was fat, but the damn scale would not stop at a famuliar metal notch!!

 So-I am dieting. Too the point that everything I put in my mouth, I feel so guilty....

Th doctor did say, he thinks it's because I only eat one meal a day, and then spend all the rest of the day and night, drinking pepsi. Pepsi is like my form of crack. I NEED it.No not DIET pepsi-somehow that has an after-taste that reminds my of how feet smell. And yes, now thanks to this dear doctor, that won't even BE a doctor for another year, I do realize pepsi is 100 HUGE calories per 8oz cup. (How many ozs  are in a big-gulp? Ohhhh 16..but then there is ice,ect...)

And calories!!! How do we figure those out. If I have a package of cookies, and they are 250 caloris, for example...how do we know this? And how do we know if some may have more or less calories?  None of this makes sense to me and   therefore I am fat.

I've purchased My Defences though. Alli-that was actually RECCOMENDED to me by a phamacist!! And a diraretic. Normally I probably wouldn't have done THIS, but one of the medications I am on, for my back, actually causes you to gain weight. So, between that, and my lack of mobility because of my back-I need more help that the average person!!

I am still feeling guilty-even of the pepsi now-but stay tuned!!!

I agree with this-also Uncle Henry's has free stuff-but my thought of posting this page was-yes the postage is costly, but you can get all you boxs, bubble wrap, tape, ect, through ups. and it would atleast feel like this whole aid page thing it atleast helping, somehow...I mean, if I am here in maine, and send a whole box of baby clothes to someone in north dakota-you can fit ALOT of baby clothes in the  box, and it's still fairly light...weigh it out-is it worth the 5 postage, to get the whole newborn layette-2nd hand, but undershirts, sleepers, little shoes, booties,recieving blankets, ect..Yes, people would have to be cautious, but I still think it's an awesome idea.

That's such a possitive out-look, and one that is soooo true. Things will ALWAYS change, no matter what situation you are considering, My motto in life is; THIS TOO SHALL PASS. It is very hard too keep that in mind through all the problems people have, though.

I agree with that. THAT was why my 3rd page was an on-line yard-sale/swap shop. So instead of buying new-people can put out what they have to swap or sell, and we could do it like that-if it was possible...I thought it was a good  idea, but I haven't noticed it going anywhere...

     Hello..This page is for ideas as to what people are doing these days.

     We can all tune into Little House on the Prairie, or The Waltons, or other shows of that time era, and see how it was, back in the day, when people worked for 12.00 a week, and raised 5 or 6 kids and were happy too do this. IMAGINE THAT?!?!

      Imagine one or your kids asking for money, and seeing JOY  from getting a dime. I'm gonna try that the next time one of them asks for money...lol..I have to just see their faces!!!

     One of my favorite tv shows now is The Duggars: Jim Bob and Michelle, and all those kids. I just KNOW they are gonna change, and they'll start getting used to the cameras, and they won't be so ......? Raw?

     Watching them make laundry soap amazed me. I was in awe over their laundry room. And all the girls in the one bedroom...and their food pantry.... Personally, I think Michelle should have her own show....with all their money  saving tips!!

     We have tried family night, where we got all the kids together, and that is really fun. And a riot...to see the kids all team up, with a game like Cranium. I wantd to try 2 candle nights a week, where no on had any light except for by candle.

     Groceries-I don't have anythig to say about that-other than I put a garden in.

     Any ideas...jump right in here and share them-we could all us them!!

     I was not prepared for this recession-AT ALL!! I have started reading stories of how people made it through the great deprssion, to learn different ways to conserve or too save money. Our kids are older: 11,15,21, and 23. This is easier, I would imagine, then if they were all young, My 21 year old and his fiance' moved back in with us-they made an apartment in the cellear-but my youngest two-no big trips to the mall ect.
